The author describes how she knew Lee as a friend since the 1950's, and he picked her to write his memoirs after he died. This is a brilliant little book--funny as hell and also pithy and true. When Hannah and Grandpa find Max, he has learned the wonders of ancient trees, perhaps the very same wonders that Grandpa has written in his private journal. It is organized by Tech Level so it is very easy to find what you want. I remember Peter Ustinov reciting lines from it in "Logan's Run." and I knew at once where it was from. This book is an excellent guide to understanding those benefits and avoiding supplements that either are not beneficial or may even be harmful at excessive levels.The authors carefully describe the degree to which a claimed benefit for each of 40 some vitamins and minerals is substantiated, as well as risks of toxicity, and dietary sources.
